Multi-Store Trips

Sometimes the best deals aren't all at the same store. Multi-Store Trips lets you plan a shopping outing that spans two or more stores, then optimizes your driving route so you spend less time on the road and more time saving money.

How It Works

Map Your Store looks at your shopping list and the stores you want to visit, then figures out the smartest order to hit each stop. It can also compare prices across stores and automatically assign each item to the store where it costs the least. Once your trip is planned, you get a clear breakdown of costs and a driving route that minimizes backtracking.

Planning a Multi-Store Trip

  1. Start a new trip -- Open the Multi-Store Trips section and tap New Trip.
  2. Add your stores -- Search for or select the stores you want to visit. You can add as many stops as you need.
  3. Add your items -- Enter the items you need to buy, or import them from an existing shopping list.
  4. Assign items to stores -- Drag items to specific stores yourself, or tap Auto-Assign to let Map Your Store place each item at the store with the best price.
  5. Optimize your route -- Tap Optimize Route and Map Your Store will reorder your stops to give you the shortest driving path.
  6. Review the cost analysis -- Check the cost breakdown to see how much you'll spend at each store and how much you're saving compared to buying everything at a single location.
  7. Start shopping -- Follow the optimized order. As you complete each stop, mark it done to track your progress.

Cost Analysis

The cost analysis screen shows you:

  • Per-store totals -- How much you'll spend at each stop.
  • Savings estimate -- How much you save by splitting your list across stores versus buying everything at one place.
  • Driving cost -- A rough estimate of fuel or time spent driving between stops, so you can weigh convenience against savings.

Auto-Assign

Not sure which store has the best price for each item? Tap Auto-Assign and Map Your Store will check available price data and place each item at the cheapest store automatically. You can always move items around afterward if you prefer a different arrangement.

Trip Status Tracking

Each multi-store trip has a status so you can pick up right where you left off:

  • Planning -- Still adding items and stores.
  • In Progress -- You've hit the road and are working through your stops.
  • Completed -- All stops are done. Your trip is saved to your history for future reference.

Tips

  • If two stores are very close together, grouping more items at the nearer one can save driving time even if prices are slightly higher.
  • Check the cost analysis before you leave -- sometimes the savings from splitting across stores don't justify the extra travel.
  • You can reuse a previous multi-store trip as a starting point by viewing it in your trip history and creating a new trip from it.
  • Auto-Assign works best when you have price history for your items. The more you use Map Your Store, the better its price data becomes.

Shop smarter, not harder.
