Community

Map Your Store gets better when people pitch in. The Community features let you share store maps, suggest improvements, leave tips for fellow shoppers, and help keep aisle information accurate -- all powered by the people who actually shop at these stores.

How It Works

Every store map in Map Your Store can be shared with the community. Other shoppers can browse the Store Marketplace to find and use maps that have already been created, suggest changes to maps they don't own, share helpful tips, and verify whether aisle labels are correct. Together, these features create a living, crowd-maintained directory of store layouts.

Store Marketplace

The Marketplace is where you can discover stores that other Map Your Store users have mapped and shared publicly.

1. Browse stores -- Search by name or location to find stores near you.
2. Check ratings and reviews -- See what other shoppers think of each store map. Ratings reflect how accurate and complete the layout is.
3. Clone a store -- Found a great map? Clone it to your own account and start using it right away. You can customize it further if needed.
4. Rate and review -- After using a community store map, leave a rating to help others know how useful it is.

Store Proposals

If you notice something wrong or outdated on a store map you don't own, you don't have to just live with it. Proposals let you suggest changes for the owner to review.

1. Submit a proposal -- Make your suggested edits and submit them as a proposal.
2. Add a description -- Explain what you changed and why, so the owner has context.
3. Discussion -- The owner (and other community members) can leave comments on your proposal to ask questions or discuss the changes.
4. Approval or rejection -- The store owner reviews your proposal and either approves it (applying the changes to the map) or rejects it with feedback.

This keeps store maps accurate while giving owners control over their layouts.

Community Tips

Know something useful about a store that isn't captured in the map? Share it as a tip.

• Leave a tip -- Write a quick note like "The deli counter closes at 8 PM" or "Best parking is on the south side."
• Browse tips -- When viewing a store, check the tips section to see what other shoppers have shared.
• Vote on tips -- Upvote tips that are helpful and downvote ones that are outdated or incorrect. The most useful tips rise to the top.

Tips are a great way to share the kind of local knowledge that doesn't fit neatly into a map.

Aisle Verification

Store layouts change over time -- items move, aisles get reorganized. Aisle Verification lets shoppers confirm or flag whether aisle labels are still accurate.

• Verify an aisle -- If you're in the store and an aisle label matches what's actually on the shelf, tap to verify it. This boosts the confidence score for that aisle.
• Flag an inaccuracy -- If an aisle label is wrong (say, "Cereal" but it's actually "Baking Supplies" now), flag it so the store owner and community know it needs updating.
• Accuracy metrics -- Store maps show overall accuracy scores based on recent verifications, helping you know how reliable the layout is before you shop.

Social Shopping Feed

The Social Shopping Feed is a community-powered stream of deal discoveries, store updates, and shopping finds from other Map Your Store users.

Sharing Deals

Spotted a great deal? Share it with the community by posting the item name, price, and store. You can add a description and optionally attach a photo. Your deal shows up in the feed for other shoppers to see.

Browsing the Feed

The feed has three tabs for different ways to discover deals:

• Trending -- Deals that are getting the most engagement right now, weighted by votes and recency.
• Recent -- The newest posts, shown in chronological order.
• Following -- Deals only from stores you follow, so you see what matters most to you.

Voting

Upvote deals that are accurate and helpful. Downvote ones that are expired, incorrect, or misleading. The community's votes determine which deals surface to the top of the Trending tab.

Following Stores

Follow stores you shop at regularly to personalize your feed. When someone posts a deal at a store you follow, it appears in your Following tab and gets a boost in your Trending view.

Tips

• Cloning a community store map is a great starting point, but take a few minutes to walk the store and verify the aisles yourself -- layouts change.
• When submitting a proposal, a clear description of what you changed makes it much more likely to be approved quickly.
• Community tips are most helpful when they're specific and timely. Include details like the time of day or day of the week when your tip applies.
• Verifying aisles only takes a few seconds while you shop and helps keep maps accurate for everyone.
• When sharing a deal, include the regular price alongside the sale price so others can see the actual savings.
• Follow your most-visited stores to keep your feed relevant and avoid noise from stores you never shop at.
