Household Hub
Managing groceries for a household is a team effort. The Household Hub brings everything together in one place -- shared pantry, coordinated meal plans, task delegation, and a family activity feed -- so everyone in the house stays on the same page.
How It Works
The Household Hub is built on top of Family Groups. Once you've set up a family group and invited members, the Hub becomes your household's central command for everything grocery-related. Everyone sees the same pantry, can contribute to meal planning, pick up delegated tasks, and follow along in the activity feed.
Shared Pantry
Keep track of what's in the house so you never buy duplicates -- or run out of essentials.
- Add items -- Log what you have at home, including quantity and unit (e.g., "2 gallons of milk").
- Track expiration dates -- Set expiration dates on perishable items. The pantry highlights items that are expiring soon so you can use them up or replace them.
- Everyone contributes -- Any household member can add, update, or remove pantry items. When someone uses the last of the eggs, they can mark it so everyone knows.
- Pantry-aware planning -- The Auto-Planner checks your shared pantry to suggest meals that use up items before they expire.
Family Meal Plans
Coordinate meals across the household so you're not all planning dinner independently.
- Shared calendar -- See the week's meals on a shared calendar that everyone in the household can view and edit.
- Assign meals -- Designate who's cooking on which night, or leave it open for anyone to claim.
- Generate shared lists -- Turn the family meal plan into a single consolidated shopping list, ready to divide up or tackle together.
Shopping Delegation
Split up the shopping work so one person doesn't have to do it all.
- Assign tasks -- Delegate specific items or entire store trips to household members.
- Track progress -- See who's picked up what and what's still outstanding.
- Flexible division -- Split by store, by category, or however works best for your household.
Activity Feed
Stay in the loop without constant texting.
- See updates -- The activity feed shows when someone adds to the pantry, checks off a shopping task, updates the meal plan, or completes a trip.
- Family-wide visibility -- Everyone in the household sees the same feed, so there's no need to relay information manually.
Family Budget
Set and track a household-level grocery budget.
- Set a shared budget -- Choose a weekly or monthly grocery budget for the whole household.
- Track collectively -- As any household member shops, their spending counts toward the shared budget.
- Stay aligned -- Everyone can see how much of the budget has been used, making it easier to coordinate spending.
Tips
- Start by adding your pantry basics -- the items you always have on hand. It only takes a few minutes and immediately makes meal suggestions smarter.
- Use expiration tracking for perishables like dairy, meat, and produce. It's the best way to reduce food waste.
- The activity feed is most useful when everyone in the household is actively using the app. Encourage family members to log their trips and update the pantry.
- Shopping delegation works well for families where different members pass by different stores during their daily routines.
