Track Prices

Never overpay for groceries again. Map Your Store tracks prices over time so you can spot deals, get alerts when prices drop, and make smarter decisions about when and where to buy.

Prerequisites

• A Map Your Store account
• At least one store saved in your account

Steps

1. Log prices manually or via receipt scanning. There are two ways to record prices:

   • Manual entry -- When you see a price in the store, open the price logger and type in the item name, price, and store.
   • Receipt scanning -- Scan your receipt after shopping and all the items and prices are recorded automatically. See the Scan Receipts guide for details.

2. View price history charts for any item. Open any item's detail page to see a chart showing how its price has changed over time. You can see trends at a glance -- whether prices are rising, falling, or staying steady.

3. Set up price alerts. Watching the price of a particular item? Add it to your watch list and set a target price. Map Your Store will send you a notification when the price drops to or below your target.

4. Check buy-or-wait recommendations before purchasing. For items with enough price history, Map Your Store shows a "Buy Now" or "Wait" badge. This recommendation is based on recent price trends and typical pricing cycles. If a sale is likely coming soon, Map Your Store will suggest you hold off.

5. Compare prices across different stores. If you shop at more than one store, use the price comparison tool to see which store currently has the best price for an item -- or for your entire shopping list. This is especially useful when combined with multi-store trip planning.

6. Premium: view AI price predictions and trends. Premium subscribers get access to AI-powered price predictions. These use your historical data and seasonal patterns to forecast where prices are heading, helping you plan purchases weeks in advance.

Tips

• Consistent logging gives better predictions. The more price data Map Your Store has, the more accurate its recommendations become. Try to scan your receipts after every shopping trip.
• Scan receipts regularly -- even if you are not actively tracking a specific item. The data builds up over time and becomes valuable for deal detection across all your groceries.
• Price alerts are free for all users. You do not need a Premium subscription to set up alerts and get notified about price drops.
